This type of arrogant rhethoric is so damaging for people who don't share your privileges. Consider this: one is an alcoholic and has *zero support* around it. AA will tell them that they simply 'don't want it (quitting) enough,' but I invite you to consider how easily you may have stopped if you were simultaneously contending with homelessess, the effects of racist policy, lack of access to education and employment, a criminal record (all of which are causes, not effects, of drinking). So many of my loved ones are dead because of this attitude being codified into policy.
