Thanks for this. At 31 I’ve just started to explore my own possible autism, and the more I read about other women’s paths to self-identification, the more I see myself. I may be autistic, I may have a dozen+ mental health diagnoses, I may just be brutally traumatized (or some combination thereof). It is wild to me how many of us can go decades perfecting the art of masking and being entirely overlooked by the medical system (while simultaneously being pathologized in other ways that do more harm than good).
