Sending you so much love. I’ve never lost a romantic partner, but as a long term drug user, the deaths are astronomical. I will say that for myself, the most effective way to process grief is to be involved in activism around drug policy. The only solution to the overdose crisis is the legalization and regulation of illicit drugs, which many people have a knee jerk moral opposition to. Ultimately, though, those of us who use despite multiple “rational” reasons not to do so largely because we’re suffering, and so much of that suffering stems from prohibition. Whatever the case, I hope you find some reprieve.
