I hear you – sometimes the symptoms of what gets labeled as bipolar suck – but also you must surely be aware that the disease model is just one paradigm (a deeply pathologizing one at that) of many. I’m curious as to why you personally reify the diagnosis when psychiatry itself is a main source of systemic ableism? I’m having trouble making sense of that.
