I appreciate your self-awareness, though it seems you’re still grappling with who and what is “authentic” (don’t worry, so are all of us). I say this because you begin this piece with a quote by Jung, who was famously a cult-esque leader and a Nazi supporter. Gandhi was deeply racist and misogynistic, as were most of the heralded White men cited throughout. My point being: no spiritual leader is infallible, and I would argue that anyone claiming to know a singular path to self-improvement/enlightenment (whether that be a guru or instagram influencer) is deluding themselves and others.
