Good lord this is out of touch. In Vancouver, B.C, where I live, we have one of the world’s highest costs of living. A one bedroom rents for $2,200 on average a month, while welfare recipients receive $375/month for shelter allowance. Yes, one can budget, live frugally, and save, *if* they’re already wealthy. The cost of being poor (genuinely poor – not frugal) is astronomical. All I see here is victim blaming steeped in blissful ignorance.
