My critique of these orgs and the systems that inform them is born of lived experience: I was homeless as a young person and cycled through religious-based youth shelters, which were glaringly problematic. Having since received a few sociology degrees and while working in solidarity with unhoused folks, it’s impossible to endorse bandaid solutions. The orgs you mention are definitely poverty pimps!
